Spinal Decompression utilizes a computerized and highly-specialized table to control the force and angle of disc distraction to provide non-invasive pain relief for bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, spinal arthritis and spinal stenosis.

The patient’s spine is gently guided through a gradual set of stretch and release cycles. These gentle cycles prevent back muscle spasms often associated with traditional overall traction. Spinal Decompression allows for the herniated or bulging disc tissue to ease back into the disc space.

Prior to beginning treatments, we evaluate you to determine if you are a candidate. Your medical history, x-rays, and CT/ MRI scans are carefully reviewed. The process begins by having the patient lie on a traction table.

The table is constructed so that the top stays stable, but the bottom can slide side-to-side to provide relaxation and traction. Depending on the table and the therapy needed, you will either lie on your back or your side and a harness will hold your hips in place.

Each treatment takes 30-45 minutes and a series of appointments is necessary to allow the disc to heal. Spinal Decompression may be combined with other treatment modalities such as heat and/or cold and/or ultrasound.
