After injuring my low back (disc herniation) in the Marine Corps 28 years ago, I refused surgery at the Naval hospital, and the med board accepted a package to end my military career.
I learned firsthand how coordinated conservative care can change the course of recovery after a serious injury. That experience shaped our commitment to focused rehabilitation and patient-centered outcomes.
I never had to have the surgery that was recommended by the Naval doctors. I was so inspired by what happened that I quickly set my sights on helping other people as he had helped me.
No harmful drugs or unnecessary surgery was needed for me to experience a complete recovery, and I knew providing effective care with a great patient outcome was my calling.
Since that time, I’ve earned 2 Bachelor of Science degrees (Physiology and Human Biology) and a Doctor of physical therapy Degree.
I have completed adventure races, marathons, and I live a healthy, active lifestyle—one that I think so many people are robbed of when they get addicted to pain pills and areas of the body become compromised by unnecessary surgical procedures, like the one that the Naval medical board had recommended for me.
I made a promise to myself that I would do everything in my power to make sure that no one I came into contact with would go down that preventable path—a path of side effects due to needless, over-prescribed medication and surgeries that often never work and leave many people in worse condition than before.
We started Precision Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine to give Arizonans a look at what medicine can be. Here, patients don’t fall through the cracks or get pulled in a million different directions. I wanted to create a place where doctors work together for the good of the patient.
I wanted a friendly and effective place where doctors from different fields combine forces to fix the cause of health issues and teach patients about real, preventative healthcare.
I’m thrilled to have an incredible team that shares this vision, and we’re excited to be a part of your healthcare team!
Healthcare is a team effort! Our team is ready, are you?
